The National Capital Healthcare Executives’ Nominating Committee is proud to announce the nomination of two individuals to serve a two-year term as Board Officers beginning in 2016. Edward M. Daniel is a healthcare administrator with more than 21 years of extensive experience leading medical, surgical, laboratory, and training services in for-profit and non-profit organizations. He is a PhD candidate in Business Administration and holds on MBA with specialization in Healthcare Management and a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Metropolitan Healthcare Services out of Herndon, Virginia , a company that provides comprehensive support services for hospitals and healthcare facilities through the United States. Mr. Daniel is honorable retired from the United States Navy after 21 years of service. He is a member of National Association of Health Services Executives (Washington Metro Area Chapter) and has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2012. Mr. Daniel has a long history of volunteerism and was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Services Medal for service between 2000-2010.
April Harris is a healthcare administrator with more than 10 years experience in public healthcare. Her background is in quantitative and qualitative research in public and community health and in pre- and post- grant administration. Ms. Harris holds a Masters of Business Administration and Healthcare Administration. She currently serves as the Treasurer for National Capital Healthcare Executives on a term that began in 2014 and was active in service to the chapter prior to this assignment. She also serves as a Volunteer Patient Advocate with Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland. Ms. Harris is a member of the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety and has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2010.
